Online Services Help

Need help using Online Services? Review the topics below to find the information you need.

Eligibility

To use Online Services, you must be an existing MPI customer and have:

  • An active Manitoba Driver’s Licence or identification card or an MPI Customer number from any official MPI document
    If you have an active driver’s licence or identification card, you must use it instead of your MPI customer number.
  • A valid Visa or MasterCard (when purchasing a service)
  • A valid email address
    You can book and manage appointments for yourself only. Driver testing services purchased online are non-transferable.

You cannot use Online Services if you have a Family Maintenance or any other restriction.

Exception: If you have a Family Maintenance restriction, you can manage an appointment.

If you are in arrears with MPI, you cannot use Online Services to book services until all your arrears are paid.

Arrears payments made online may take 2 to 4 business days to process. Payments made at an Autopac agent or MPI service centre are effective immediately.

Available Services

With Online Services, you can purchase, schedule, reschedule, and cancel appointments for:

  • Class 5 Knowledge Test (minors must have parental consent on file to purchase)
  • Class 5 Road Test
  • Class 6 Knowledge Test (minors cannot purchase or manage appointments for a Class 6 Knowledge Test online)
  • Class 6 Road Test

Additional services may be added in the future.

Some services cannot be arranged online. Visit an Autopac agent or MPI service centre to:

  • Request a refund
  • Request accessibility accommodation
  • Request a specific gender of examiner (e.g. for religious reasons)
  • Request or manage an appointment for an oral knowledge test
  • Request or manage an appointment for a Class 1 to 4, or air brake tests
  • Request or manage an appointment for a road test while you have an active or pending driver licence suspension

Scheduling, Rescheduling, or Cancelling an Appointment

  • When choosing an appointment time on the Select Appointment page, if the counter times out, click Search to refresh the list of available appointments.
  • The earliest date that you are able to book an appointment for a test is based on:
    • The age requirement
    • The mandatory wait time between tests
    • The mandatory wait time for the Graduated Driver's Licensing program
    Appointments may not be available because your earliest eligible date is too far in the future.
  • You cannot schedule or reschedule appointments online within 24 hours. For more information, see Driver Testing – How to Book.
  • You must forfeit the amount paid for the service if you cancel an appointment scheduled within 24 hours
  • You can book a knowledge test for any location.
  • Customers who live in an area with a service centre location can take a road test at any MPI service centre.
  • If the counter on the Confirm Order page times out, you need to repeat the entire process from the start.
  • You receive appointment details by email. The email will not be re-sent; print or save the email for your reference (if you can’t find the email, check your Junk E-Mail folder).

Payment

  • Payment is by VISA or MasterCard only. See Schedule of Charges for charges.
  • You receive a payment receipt by email (separate from the email with appointment details). The email will not be re-sent; print or save the email for your reference (if you can’t find the email, check your Junk E-Mail folder).
  • If your payment is declined, you must repeat the entire process from the start.
  • Refunds cannot be requested online. Visit an Autopac agent or MPI service centre.

Technical Requirements

Online Services is accessible from most browsers and devices, but is optimized for desktops.

You may get an error message because your session expired, you lost your connection, etc. When this happens, you need to repeat the entire process from the start.

How do I book testing services not available through Online Services?

Can I pay my arrears online?

Yes. Select Make a Payment from the Online Services landing page. Once all your all arrears are paid and processed (in 2 to 4 business days), you can use Online Services for booking.

How does MPI protect my personal information online?

Just like with all other personal information, MPI takes the protection of your credit card information very seriously. We maintain physical, electronic and procedural safeguards to protect your information from unauthorized access.

Will MPI request any information by email?

No, MPI will not contact you for any other reason or request information from you through email.
